Friday night

It's 10:30 pm. Kids are in bed. Daddy is happily playing Call of Duty with his friends. I'm in bed with my laptop and a cold beer ready to go to ABC.com and catch up on my shows. The Christmas tree is plugged in (in my bedroom where Ivan can't get it). I'm all set to have a relaxing evening. Only problem is...I can barely keep my eyes open :)

Warning: V-necks are strongly discouraged.

Even though a v-neck elongates your neck and makes you look slimmer, I highly recommend that if you ever hold Ivan (or any other baby) you wear a crew-neck shirt. For a v-neck is really just a convenient opening for spit-up to enter, run down your chest, and pool in your bra, belly-button, and pants.

One-Armed Chipotle

I bounced Ivan on one knee while I ate my Chipotle steak burrito today... and for every bite he let me eat without crying I silently thanked him. Thank you, thank you, thank you, this is so freakin' yummy! I hope he silently thanked me for not getting any guacamole on his head.

And so the blogging begins...

I've been blogging away in my mind for about a year now after becoming addicted to several other "mommy blogs." I found myself asking, "why do I feel compelled to blog when I typically hate writing so much?" I think it's because I CRAVE adult conversation and I love to talk. However, with two kids at home most conversations with my husband, or anyone else, get interrupted so many times I can't remember what we were talking about in the first place. Jesse and I can now communicate with our eyes... For example, when Ivan is crying so loud there is no point trying to talk we just give each other that knowing look that says, "We'll talk later I guess."
