Conversations with Adelle

On eating animals:

Adelle: People eat chicken?

Me: Yup

Adelle: We can only eat animals we don't like then.

Me: You don't like chickens?

Adelle: Yeah, I don't like chickens. They bug me.

Me: Do you like cows?

Adelle: Yes, I love cows. They're nice to me.

Me: Well, hamburgers come from cows.

Adelle ponders for a moment on this dilemma.

Adelle: Then, no one should eat hamburgers anymore.

Me: Okay. What about fish? Do you like fish?

Adelle: Yeah, I love fish. But we shouldn't eat them 'cause I don't wanna eat dolphins!

Me: No, we don't eat dolphins. Do you like ham? Ham comes from pigs.

Adelle: Yes, I like ham. (again she ponders for a moment) Momma, do people eat pigs before they get all muddy?
